Torah Procession

August 20th at 5pm

Join us for this special event and rejoice as we move our Torahs into our new building.

One of the most exciting parts of moving to a new synagogue is the ability to participate or witness the Moving a Torah into a Synagogue. The ceremony is called Hachnasat Sefer Torah, which literally means the bringing in of a Sefer Torah. In this case, we will be moving the eight scrolls that currently reside in the Ark in our sanctuary.

We plan to follow custom which relates the moving of the Torah to a wedding. We will walk the Torah scrolls from our old sanctuary to our new sanctuary under a Chuppah, accompanied by music. When we arrive at the new building and house the Torah scrolls, the Rabbi and Cantor will conduct a Kabbalat Shabbat service and a celebratory dinner. Details about the dinner and reservation forms to follow.

To participate in an honor, please find the form on the Brochures page (link on top of our website).
